Siam Smart House

The Siam Smart House, winner of five awards to date. Carried out by our UK based team, the project stands out on so many levels and has received numerous international features and accolades.

The property which is 5 years in the making, features a Crestron home automation system, with Lutron HomeWorks lighting and blind controls. With over 25 audio zones, 16 video zones, and 350 lighting circuits this was a major achievement for NVI, especially given the logistical issues of delivering a project of this size over 14 hours away.

The client was familiar with smart houses as this is their third (NVI also look after their UK property) and was a key part of the brief. Wherever possible we were asked to consider creative ideas that could provide wow factor, as entertaining is one of the primary functions of this home. Challenge accepted, we designed solutions that allowed the technology to be hidden when not in use, yet reveal at the touch of a button. All from a simple user interface.

Not content with hidden technology we were tasked to provide bespoke user interfaces for control of the system. This included integration with the wine cellars, allowing the Crestron system to keep track of, and show information regarding the wine stored. Plan layouts of each floor provide feedback as to room status – showing if the lights or air conditioning have been left on, and the ability to switch off at the touch of a button. Plus the much used ‘party mode’ feature. These custom designs set the user interaction of this project apart from the usual ‘cookie cutter’ approach used so often.

We are tremendously proud of the accomplishment achieved with this project, in light of the challenges faced we turned a large and complicated smart home, into an easy to use and seamless experience for the client.

Bijou

The mantra behind this upmarket property is small but perfectly formed. Therefore, to maximise living space our team made use of technology which is discreet, and considerate towards the perfectly executed interiors.

The centrepiece of the solution is a hidden TV that is integrated behind glass within a freestanding mirror. Plastered-in speakers in either side of the wall provide the audio to complete the solution – thus preserving both interior design and space.

In addition, a multi-room system plays music throughout the house, with subtle, considerately chosen speakers to suit each room.

TV, speakers and source equipment are all operated using a simple to use control system, which is hidden out of sight, and delivered via a wired and Wi-Fi network to enable mobile control devices such as iPads.

Palatial Penthouse

A unique garden square penthouse in the heart of Knightsbridge.

This project has been a two year undertaking for the NVI team. Working closely with the design team to transform the upper floors of this mansion block into a state of the art, and luxurious smart home.

With the show stopping architecture and interiors, an equally impressive AV system was a must. NV Integration deployed a Crestron home automation system as the cornerstone; controlling the audio visual systems, as well as building control - such as the heating and cooling systems. A Lutron HomeWorks lighting control system provided the control of the natural and artificial lights, as this also included Lutron's Sivoia QS motorised blinds and curtains.

Siam Super Cinema

This private theatre room was completed as part of the Sutthisan project in autumn 2016.

After a visit with the client to Meridian and Pulse Marketing in Cambridgeshire, the line up was chosen. DSP Special Edition loudspeakers provide the 7.4 surround sound audio, with every speaker and subwoofer finish matching the wall surfaces, via Meridian Select.

Six Fortress home theatre seats provide the furniture in the room. All six chairs include D-Box motorisation so that the chairs move in time with the action happening on screen. Fortunately, this can be easily controlled from the chair, or from the Crestron automation system; especially useful when you want to enjoy a meal using the motorised tray tables, which are built into the arm of each chair.

Optical glass separates the JVC 4K laser projector from the room, yet still allows the light to pass through the anamorphic lens to the 3.3-metre cinemascope projector screen; eliminating noise from the projector’s fan while enjoying a movie. Great for when you want to watch a film instantly from the Kaleidescape Premier Line server.

With such a high pedigree of products specified it was a must to provide acoustic treatment techniques, to ensure the best performance from the Meridian speakers. Panels wrap the walls and allow absorption and diffusion in the correct locations. NVI even supplied the deep pile carpet to improve the room acoustics.

With just a little magic left a starscape ceiling provides some wow factor, and with the client's admission that this is their favourite room in the house – means a job well done for the NVI team.

Belgravia Square Apartment

During a recent refurbishment in a Belgravia apartment, our client asked us to upgrade and centralise their existing system. Design, finish and workmanship were all key factors in their appointment of NV Integration.

As the client was a music aficionado, we installed a Crestron audio system with Bowers & Wilkins in-ceiling speakers to provide beautiful sound quality throughout the property. In the reception room, we made the addition of a 5.1 surround sound system so that it appeared to be floating underneath the TV – a bespoke order to match the TV width perfectly. We then devised a solution which allowed the client to press one button to play music from their connected device instantly in every room. Control keypads were installed completely flush with the wall using custom finishing plates and were then seamlessly integrated to control the lighting, music and video with a press of a button. We also provided iPhone and iPad apps, as well as Crestron touch panels for total system control from anywhere in the house.

Contemporary Villa

This magnificent modern villa located in Hampstead, London has been built to the highest specification with 7 bedroom suites, 3 reception rooms, cinema, indoor pool, gym, staff apartment as well as secure underground parking for up to 3 cars.

The owner contacted us to update a clunky old system that was detracting from the luxury feel of the house. Lighting, blinds, security, music, TV, and movies were all operated independently using different controls, causing endless headaches and confusion.

NV Integration installed a Control4 smart home system, which consolidated the various services of the house into a centralised, integrated home automation system. We also installed touchscreen control pads and iPhone and iPad apps so that lighting, blinds, security, music, TV, and movies could all be operated from a central control.

Hidden House

This is the hidden house. From the outside, it appears to offer just one floor but in fact, offers two further floors below ground level.

This project will include a Crestron automation system which will be the primary form of control for the mechanical and electrical services in the property including actuated windows, doors, shutters, elevators and even smart glass. In the basement, we are also designing a high-end cinema system.

As the basement is constructed from poured concrete we are working closely on the acoustic design to ensure the client gets the best possible performance from their cinema to combat this unforgiving environment.

The client wanted a light and minimalist look, so creating the treatments we needed were not easy, but we have come up with a few innovations to achieve the right result. One solution we have employed uses a curtain with an acoustic lining that covers one of the cinema’s 11 metre walls when the lights are down and the systems are in use, but stows away when the room is off, This is right at the heart of what NV Integration look to achieve, allowing the client to get the performance, but also the look they want.

Marvel Cinema

This sumptuous room, now the entertainment playground of an internet entrepreneur, was transformed from a double garage into a high-end home cinema in just three weeks.

We separated ourselves from the competition by creating a photo-realistic 3d environment to visualise how the finished room would look, before the project began (see gallery).

With everything bar the projector hidden from sight, we were able to recommend home cinema specific Procella audio speakers, which were installed behind a 120-inch projector screen. The rest of the equipment, including an Apple TV, Sky+ HD and PS3 was hidden in a purpose-built hub at the back of the room.

Control of the system, including lighting, was delivered by a Crestron touchscreen remote and an in-wall touchscreen.

The owner declared himself extremely happy with the results. He’s very partial to inviting his friends over, cranking it up and driving the meaty speakers to their mind-blowing maximum.

Classical New Build

This 11,000ft² cedar-clad home was built by a Royal Navy admiral in 1964 who had been so impressed by the Gone-With-The-Wind beauty of colonial houses in Williamsburg, USA while on duty there, that upon his return he built a replica of his favourite one.

NV Integration was instructed to design and install a home automation control system to allow seamless operation of the audio, visual, and lighting services. To match this stunning property a Crestron system was implemented, allowing customisation of every panel, remote and interface throughout the home, which was a key requirement.

The property’s electrical services were also incorporated into the system, bringing the heating, air conditioning, blinds, security, access controls and pool temperature into one control interface. This allowed all equipment to be neatly centralised in the basement, with only the Crestron touch panels on display for a clean look and feel to each room.

The family are very happy with their new system and love that they have simple, easy to use controls for a house which runs so many services. No longer do they have to worry about missed lights downstairs when going to bed, a simple “All Off” button by the bedside makes sure the house is safe and not wasting energy.

Rutland Retreat

For this prestigious West London property, our client, a property developer, required us to turn it into a fully automated smart home to set it apart from the competition.

YOU GUYS HAVE EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS OF WHAT COULD BE ACHIEVED.
TO COVER SO MANY AREAS WAS A FANTASTIC EFFORT.

We installed a full complement of technology: multi-room audio and HD video, lighting, and a smart home control system to bring it all together. We were also tasked with integrating the other household services, such as climate system and swimming pool temperature. On top of this, the system had to be ‘open book’, so that any prospective buyer could quickly be set up and start using it. For easy control of all household services in one simple, intuitive interface, we installed Control4 in-wall touch panels, handheld remotes and iPads.

All of the equipment was centralised into a neat rack space to leave the property’s interior design clean and tasteful.

The developer was overjoyed with the solution that had been delivered. The lack of wall sockets usually associated with technology filled homes was a big plus, as were the keys of each keypad, which had been individually engraved to make it clear what could be activated at the touch of a button when you enter a room.

A beautiful collection of twenty-three high-end residential apartments in the heart of Westminster.

Our scope included Lutron HomeWorks QS lighting control systems, which bring together lighting and blind controls from wall mounted keypads, plus iPad and iPhone apps.

As part of our consultancy for the project we also made a recommendation for the audiovisual and IT infrastructure. This foresight will provide flexibility for the homeowner to distribute the latest content and services around their new homes.

Embankment Apartment

NV Integration was tasked to provide a multi-room audio-visual system as part of the remodelling of this Chelsea mansion block apartment.

Audio: We utilised a Sonos music system with Bowers & Wilkins in-ceiling speakers. Control of this system was via iPad and iPhone apps.

Video: The client wanted the facility to watch any source in any room at any time, so all video sources were centralised which allowed us to distribute the audio and video signals via the cabling within the walls. Simple control of the TV systems were via Control4 handheld remotes, making the system operation simple to use, and reliable.

By centralising the equipment this meant that only the TV and speakers were on show in each room. This keeps the living spaces clean and allowed us to keep the electronics in a temperature controlled environment. This also allowed us to reset devices remotely for maintenance or servicing without the client having to wait for an engineer to attend.

Lastly, a robust data network was installed so that the smart home connected devices, and clients laptops, iPhones and iPads could all connect quickly and securely.

Harbourside Apartment

This contemporary pad isn't the place you'd expect to find a home cinema installation, and that was exactly what you'd think when the cinema is not in use. We installed an in-ceiling motorised screen which drops at the 'Watch Movie' touch of a button from the simple home control system.

All of the audiovisual and IT source equipment is centralised downstairs, and the signals routed via the cabling within the walls to devices. This leaves a clean finish to the living spaces and the visual impact of the home.

As space is also used by the family for entertaining a multi-room music system is also included with in-ceiling speakers from Bowers & Wilkins, as well as a robust Wi-Fi network for their wireless browsing.

Mixed-Use New Build

A design and build project that we have completed in South East Asia. This mixed-use building has four storeys of commercial offices and a luxury penthouse apartment.

The project features a Crestron home automation system and a Lutron HomeWorks QS lighting control system that also controls Lutron's Sivoia QS shades for the penthouse.

NV Integration deployed a commercial enterprise network from Cisco that provides wired and wireless internet and networking on a fibre-optic backbone for the entire building.

Kensington Terrace

This grade II listed London townhouse underwent a full refurbishment in 2018. This project required careful consideration to pass listed building consent, and protect the heritage of the six storey property while bringing the services up to date that a young family would expect in a modern luxury home.

Working to a fixed budget, NV Integration carefully selected a stable of independent systems for audio, video, lighting controls, and door entry system. This means that the client uses a dedicated form of control, or app for operating each service; ensuring simple and straightforward functions for the layman. As an added benefit all of the above is distributed from a centralised AV cabinet in the temperature controlled plant room.

The basement previously featured a 10 metre swimming pool, however this was converted back into habitable space, including the family favourite Den, which also doubles up as a sunken conversation pit.

Georgian Townhouse

We were involved with the full refurbishment of this Grade I listed property in 2015. Due to building constraints, this raised many challenges during the project. Our design team came up with creative ideas to deliver the clients brief, all while remaining within the constraints set out by the council. Working with one of London’s top interior design houses, the stunning finish is evident in the photos; yet this meant a detailed and considered approach was needed and delivered.

This 5,000sqft grade II listed property comprises over three floors in the heart of Knightsbridge.

The property, which is a development for re-sale includes a high specification home automation system from Crestron which operates the audio visual, electrical, and mechanical services from wall mounted touch-panels, remotes, and iPad.

Working with one of London's most prestigious design practises, and to the planners strict guidelines we installed technologies that were discreet, or completely invisible; such as mirror televisions over mantelpieces, and plaster over invisible speakers throughout.

Virtual Viewing

Highlands Estate

This private estate is a haven located in the east Scottish Highlands Cairngorms National Park, and spans over 22,000 acres of lush countryside. At the heart of the Estate is the prestigious Lodge, which has hosted famous guests such as King Edward VII, King George V, King George VI, and President Roosevelt in the past.

NV Integration took part in the renovation, bringing it up to date with audio & video services as well as installing a luxury home cinema. Our cinema installation comprised a 4K projector with a 178" fixed frame screen. For audio, we installed the Bowers & Wilkins range of Diamond speakers and subwoofers for a speaker set up that gives a breathtaking, and immersive cinematic experience. We also outfitted the room with extensive soundproofing in the walls and ceiling, to ensure the audio was balanced and reflected properly in this space - yet also contained within the room.

Separately to the home cinema room we supplied multi-room audio and video services to other rooms - so the owners can enjoy the same services throughout the property.

Terrace Townhouse

This property located in a cosy corner of Knightsbridge had it's AV services brought back to life by NV Integration.

AV system refurbishment is an essential part of our services at NV Integration. As older systems become outdated, are not used, or not installed correctly we assess, reinstall and upgrade these existing services making the home useable once more.

The client approached NVI to take over an existing system which had been consistently inconsistent. After an initial assessment we deemed it best to retain the existing wiring infrastructure, to minimise re-wiring in a finished property, but to upgrade the control system which the homeowner interacted with.

We also upgraded the internal wired and wireless networking systems; adding in more security, robustness, as well as Wi-Fi points around the property to provide a strong, fast internet connection anywhere in the home.

After an initial negative experience of having AV in the home, the customer showed their faith in NV Integration, and was rewarded with a smart home they can now rely on.

Regents Park Terrace

NV Integration are working in Regents Park on the development of a property in Gloucester Gate.

Regents Park has quite an extensive history. The dissolution of monasteries in the 16th century allowed Henry VIII to acquire the manor of Tyburn and create hunting grounds, Marylebone Park which covered the same area as Regents Park today.

Once the English Civil war came the land was ‘disparked’ and then the next 100 years the land was used for farming. It wasn’t until the beginning of the 19th century when the land was resurveyed and became suitable for redevelopment. The Prince Regent George VI commissioned John Nash, Architect to the Woods and Forests, to develop the land into a park with exclusive fashionable estates along with a summer palace for the George VI.

Unfortunately, crown finances dried up rather quickly and withdrew from the development. This is where James Burton, the most successful real estate developer of the time refinanced the project with some terms for Nash. One of which was to take Decimus Burton, James Burton’s youngest son, as protégé to Nash.

Nash and Burton decided on developing the park as well as 10 luxurious estates that would look over the park.

This area consists of 10 estates with terraced houses.

Decimus also designed and built the property The Holme. This was the home of his father, James Burton. It looks over the boating lake in Regents Park. Architectural critic Ian Nairn wrote of The Holme: "If you want a definition of western civilization in a single view, then here it is".

Decimus and Nash worked together to design the rest of the estates surrounding Regents Park. They wanted to design a traditional English townhouse but also incorporated many Greco-Roman styles. This period of architecture was known as the Regency and was popularised by Nash and Decimus who managed to capture the essence of the Greco-Roman style whilst maintaining some aspects of Georgian Architecture.

This was evident through the front of houses which followed an Ionic style of architecture which is defined by the columns, more precisely the volute. This spiral/scroll-like capital sits atop an Ionic column. Every estate in Nash and Decimus design incorporates these columns.

Furthermore, columns support pediments which incorporated detailed design with the face as well as statues on top each of roof.

The properties once completed have been through a lot in the past 200 years. In World War 2 many were destroyed/damaged by German warplanes. However Nash and Decimus’s design survived and these properties were restored to their original quality.

As they have held significant history they have been classified as Grade I listed buildings as they hold exceptional historical and architectural interest

Over the years these terraced properties have hosted some famous residents such as Jamie Oliver, Sacha Baron Cohen, Stefano Gabbana and Tom Ford are some of the residents who have/are staying around Regents Park.

Surrey Residence

One of our latest projects is this 8,700 sq ft development in Surrey.

This beautiful property was purchased as a home for our client and their family.

Our remit was to enhance the home with a discreet smart home installation that integrated AV and lighting throughout the entire property without intruding on the modern interior design of this lavish home.

The interior designer crafted each room with Minotti Furniture and Tom Dixon's extraordinary lighting accessories.

Meticulously designed custom joinery is present throughout the entire property blending perfectly into the room whilst being adorned with luxury furnishings.

Our integrated technology is discreetly sprinkled throughout the property with powerful in-ceiling speakers as well as on-wall TVs that are connected to our centralised system for instant streaming of any audio or video source.

The bespoke cinema room showcases an 88" Samsung 4K QLED TV that is supported by a Bowers & Wilkins 5.1 surround set up for that movie night experience.

Mid-century modern home

NV Integration was involved in the refurbishment of this beautiful 19th Century property that has undergone extensive renovations to restore it's beauty and grandeur whilst also bringing in comprehensive technological updates.

Our client wanted to create a warm space for their family, as a result the architect tried to incorporate as much natural light possible. This was achieved in the back of the home where the conservatory was renovated with large glass panels giving a view of the beautiful garden.

NV Integration worked closely with the design team to provide considerate solutions throughout the property, with anything on display being design in accordance with the period styling of the home. This included a UK first antique brass Lutron Palladiom keypads, and stylish Bang & Olufsen speakers that provided immaculate sound alongside their beautiful design. The basement served as a media/playroom featuring a recessed TV with an integrated soundbar and a hidden subwoofer behind an acoustic panel.

Pont Perfection

This three-storey property in the heart of Knightsbridge underwent a complete refurbishment, transforming the outdated interior with a clean, classic scheme, while discreetly integrating bespoke home technology throughout.

NV Integration worked closely with the design team on this project to provide our client with a beautiful home, that features sophisticated home technology which is hidden in plain sight.

This included a Crestron control system that seamlessly integrates the services in the property. For lighting, a Lutron HomeWorks system, allows the client to control lighting scenes and motorised window treatments; alongside complete multi-room audio & video systems to invisible speakers and invisible, when not in use, TVs throughout the home.

Redcliffe Apartment

NV Integration were involved in the refurbishment of this historic Chelsea apartment.

The apartment is located in one of Londons historic neighbourhoods - Redcliffe Square which holds a lot of history.

Going back to the 1800s, Redcliffe Square was built as a part of the Gunter Estate. It was named Redcliffe Square because of the surveyor George Goodwin's close connections St Mary's Redcliffe Parish in Bristol, described by Queen Elizabeth I as the "fairest, goodliest and most famous parish church in England"

Redcliffe Square was also the location of where Tara Browne, socialite and heir to the Guiness fortune crashed his car after driving through a red traffic light. This later inspired the song "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles.

Working alongside the interior designer, NVI were tasked with creating an AV system which was both powerful and beautiful. It needed to be simple and intuitive to use, without over-complicated controls, seamlessly blending technology with design.

The apartment benefitted from an open-plan living room with high vaulted ceilings, allowing us to create a multi-use, flexible space. Not only can the space be used for entertaining, but also as a media room, with high level on-wall speakers and a dedicated 5.1 cinema surround system utilising in-wall and floor-standing speakers.

The master bedroom and master en-suite both benefit from in-ceiling speakers as well as integrated air conditioning. All operable via an intuitive home automation system, allowing the homeowner to summon a litany of services, all from a single user interface.

Edwardian Apartment

A grand Edwardian apartment in the heart of Knightsbridge. This home recently underwent a full refurbishment. Intricate architectural details, stunning Italianate ironwork, elegant marble flooring all hide the powerful integrated system that takes control of the heating, networking, and lighting controls throughout this new home.

Rooms are adorned with high ceilings and tall sash windows that let in an abundance of natural light. They are complimented by a range of Lutron Sivoia QS shading solutions, including Palladiom, and Roman blinds that open and close silently at the touch of a button.

This grand property comprises an elegant reception room, formal dining room, spacious bespoke kitchen/breakfast room, principal bedroom suite with walk-in wardrobes, three further double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a utility room, guest cloakroom and two private south-facing terraces.

NVI provided integrated smart home services in the form of a centralised Crestron control system and a distributed audio & video network. The lighting is controlled via Lutron HomeWorks and their signature Antique Brass SeeTouch faceplates.

Due to the slow internet speeds available in Knightsbridge, NVI devised a 5G wireless solution to upgrade the existing ADSL broadband from around 16mbps to over 400mbps, providing a home internet experience which is far more befitting of the homeowners expectations.

Our works

NV Integration upgraded the entire audio visual, IT, Crestron smart home, and Lutron lighting control systems - including adding battery operated wireless controlled blinds and curtains. In addition to this we brought up to date an obsolete building management system. We replaced this with a full KNX intelligent climate control system, allowing independent heat, cool, or auto functionality of the heating and cooling in each room.

Another beautiful apartment in a leafy garden square of Knightsbridge.

During a recent refurbishment we implemented audio-visual, IT, and security services for the homeowner. The cornerstone of the solution is based on a Crestron smart home, providing app based control of the services in the home, in addition to hard button remote controls for the TVs, minimising remote clutter, and simplifying the TV watching experience.

For the audio systems we used a Sonos multi room music system, with a mixture of Leon's bespoke profile series speakers, designed to match the TV perfectly, and Wisdom Audio's in-wall speakers, disguised as soundbars. This method provides the client with a level of detail and clarity when watching TV, which far surpasses the built in TV speakers.

Post completion our aftercare and monitoring support services were put into place, allowing us to remotely track the health of connected devices, and restart the power remotely via the internet (when necessary), ensuring uptime for the users to enjoy the home technology.

Countryside Cinema

As part of a recent basement excavation to this family home we provided the turnkey solution of this dedicated home theatre room. The project was recognised by CEDIA as a shortlisted finalist at the 2023 CEDIA Awards.

The room features a JVC 4K projector, Dolby Atmos 7.4.4 Surround Sound, Home Theatre Seating, and full acoustic room treatments by NVI. This means the speakers and subwoofers are hidden within the walls, and surrounded by acoustic treatments, improving the experience, while allowing the full sound to pass into the room.

The room is climate controlled thanks to a KNX system, and lighting controlled thanks to a Lutron HomeWorks system. Again, designed and installed by NVI.

Bringing all of the above together is a Crestron system, with fixed on-wall screen, handheld remote, and app controls for simple, efficient control of the room.

Holland Home Cinema

As part of a phased refurbishment of this London listed property we installed a 4K Home Cinema for our discerning clients to enjoy TV & film.

The room itself faced a number of challenges, primarily due to being a listed building, but we successfully dovetailed the technology into the room, while being sympathetic to the property's heritage status.

The projection is provided via a 4K laser projector from JVC, with the speakers and subwoofers from Wisdom Audio. We had the speaker grilles custom RAL finished to match the joinery interior. A simple to use handheld remote provides control of the room, plus the video sources which include: Sky, Blu-ray player, and Apple TV box which has been customised to show UK or USA content on-demand.

Elsewhere in the home we installed a Sonos music system, Lutron motorised roller blinds which are concealed in ceiling pockets yet run totally silently, a simple to use control system that interfaces heating, security and more, plus superfast Wi-Fi6 wireless access points for accessing the internet.

The Lanesborough Hotel

As part of some recent upgrade works we retrospectively installed audio visual services to several function rooms in this luxurious five star hotel.

The existing meeting rooms which functioned for events and weddings were desperately quiet, to the point of lacking soul. We carefully threaded infrastructure into this historic building, allowing some proper audio, with specialist speakers discreetly installed within the air conditioning ducts that run around the perimeter of the ceilings of each room. We also installed wireless microphones to each room, and music streaming sources, providing some much needed content, whatever the occasion.

The management were extremely pleased that they chose to work with NVI, to give these fantastic rooms an entertainment system they deserved.
